Is ergoPouch too tight?

A quick way to check if the neck is too tight is to see if you can put 2 fingers inside the neck opening. If you can, the fit is correct. If you are still uncomfortable with the opening being small, we suggest to undo the zipper about 1cm down with the zip cover still over the top.

Can Sleep Sack be too tight around neck?

The openings at the neck and arms should be snug enough so your baby won’t slip down inside the bag, which could result in suffocation or overheating. Make sure the bag fits the season.

Are Ergopouches safe?

All ergoPouch sleepwear is TOG rated and made from breathable, natural fibres including organic cotton and bamboo. Sleepwear that is filled with synthetic fibres (such as polyester) will make your child overheat, sweat, and may frequently wake them up throughout the night.

How many swaddle SUITs do I need?

We recommend that you purchase at least two SWADDLE UP™ TRANSITION BAGs/SUITs in the appropriate size. If you own two then one can be in the wash while your baby is wearing the other one. It might even be helpful to consider having a third on hand to use in case of emergencies!

When should we stop swaddling your baby?

When to Stop Swaddling Your Baby ‌You should stop swaddling your baby when they start to roll over. That’s typically between two and four months. During this time, your baby might be able to roll onto their tummy, but not be able to roll back over. This can raise their risk of SIDs.

Can you over swaddle a baby?

It’s potentially unsafe if your baby is not swaddled properly. There’s also a risk of your baby overheating if they are wrapped in too many blankets, in covers that are too heavy or thick, or if they’re wrapped too tightly. See below for how to swaddle safely.

Can you put a blanket over a swaddled baby?

A properly wrapped swaddle blanket or a swaddle sleep sack can be used safely from birth until about 2 months of age, as this is when babies often start trying to roll over. But don’t layer another blanket over a swaddled baby, as this loose bedding could cover your baby’s face and increase the risk of suffocation.
