Getting Your Banner/Student ID Number
- Log into AppalNet.
- Enter your “username” (the first part of your appstate.edu email account).
- Enter your password.
- Click on the “Personal Information” tab.
- Click on “Display Banner ID” link to view your Student ID (SID) number.

What is a Banner ID number? Everyone has a unique identifying number that starts with ‘900’. Per policy, it is required for password resets over the phone. Everyone has a Banner ID number and you will need to know it in order to get the help you need.

What is AppalNet?
The AppalNet portal is different than the MyMountaineer portal. It is a portal for admitted students that they continue to use through their time as a student at Appalachian. In AppalNet, students can register for courses, see financial aid and access their student bill, among other things.
Is App State a party school?
There are not a lot of parties and greek life is not that big so if that’s what someone is looking for them App may not be the place for them. Close-minded people would probably have a difficult time at this school.
